Deskripsi Mata Kuliah

This course, designed for second-semester students, focuses on the exploration of English-language texts and references related to the history of Islamic civilization. The course aims to develop students' comprehension skills in reading and analyzing historical narratives, scholarly works, and primary sources written in English, while simultaneously deepening their understanding of the rich and diverse history of Islamic civilization.

Through this course, students will explore topics such as the emergence and spread of Islam, key figures in Islamic history, contributions of the Islamic world to science, art, and philosophy, as well as the social and cultural dynamics within Islamic societies throughout history.

By engaging with English texts, students will enhance their language proficiency and academic reading skills while gaining insights into the pivotal role of Islam in shaping global civilization. This course will also equip students with the ability to critically evaluate and interpret historical sources and develop a broader perspective on the interconnectedness of Islamic civilization with the wider world.

At the end of this course, students are expected to have both a deeper understanding of Islamic civilization and improved academic English skills that will benefit their future studies and research.
